Kideco (http://www.kideco.fr) is a commercial company in the business of selling children's items, such as toys and educational goods, that Kideco customers submit for sale or resale. Today eBay is the main sales channel for the company.
Kideco invests a lot in web development on the PHP/MySQL platform and its internal information system integrates with major Internet sales channels (Google, eBay). See the blog of the company powered by b2evolution: http://live.kideco.fr.
[edit] Make your blog a commercial blog
Kideco has undertaken development of a plug-in for b2evolution, with the goal of providing the capability to transform your blog in a commercial blog. Commercial blogs are a new type of commercial web site. The main idea is to publish new offers as posts in a blog.
The idea is to develop a plugin that allows users to post commercial offers like any other posts.
The plug-in b2commerce provides :
- backoffice interface to edit new offers: title / description / price / delivery cost
- standard interface to two payment methods: PayPal & Google Checkout.
[edit] Install b2commerce plugin
Download b2commerce archive in the plugin directory of your b2evolution install. ( http://live.kideco.fr/download/b2commerce_plugin.zip )
During setup of the plugin, choose either PayPal or Google Checkout as your checkout provider.
Based on your choice, add your email account for PayPal or your Google Checkout merchant ID.
The plug-in is ready to use: you can start publishing your commercial posts.
[edit] Use of b2commerce plug-in
Each of your posts can now be converted to a commercial offer by selecting the property "commercial offer" in the 'b2commerce' group of fields.
The title and the description is used to describe your offer. Enter the price and the shipping cost; this information will be displayed at the bottom of your description next to a "Buy Now" button.
