Talk:Main Page
From B2evolution
Well, let's go for the structured Table of Contents. I'll do some reading in the MediaWiki documentation. And, I suppose I'll be asking for help in their support pages. But, what would you think of me also moving, (copying), this thread to the b2evo Documentation effort Forum? I'd be including what you and I have said starting with my February 2nd paragraph. -Barry Pannebaker 01:10, 5 February 2008 (CET)
If you click Special pages on the right you can find all sorts of automated "indexes". Other than that, I think it would be a good idea to create a structured table of contents and maybe also an index listing all sorts of synonym keywords and linking them to the appropriate content. And yes we could link those on the home page. Actually even in the sidebar ;) --Fplanque 16:53, 3 February 2008 (CET)
Thank you. I'd like to put the links in the appropriate places. Does this Manual have anywhere in it a list of all its pages? A Table of Contents or an Index? If it does, perhaps we could put a link to that on the home page. Barry Pannebaker 18:56, 2 February 2008 (CET)
I don't think this is a topic of such general interest it should be on the home page. You can definitely link it in a couple of places but I don't think the home page makes sense. --Fplanque 18:01, 2 February 2008 (CET)
Could we, (I), put a link to the URL Parameters on this page? (And, is this the right place to ask this question?) I didn't find a link to the parameters anywhere else. (I found them through the Search box in the sidebar.) Barry Pannebaker 17:21, 2 February 2008 (CET)
All pages should probably says "This pages applis to version x. Other versions available y, z" and link to those. --Fplanque 17:45, 30 November 2007 (CET)
Much of the Docs ar (still) written with the 1.6 branch in hindsight. What do we want? Update topics to 1.10? How do we diffenentiate between 1 and 2? Seperate pages or some layout rules? I think this will become eminent in the near future. I'd say a clear subheader stating the intended version for all topics. Afwas 15:26, 30 November 2007 (CET)
What about this page: FAQ_:_After_Installation. Good enough to serve as a FAQ hub? --Fplanque 14:18, 19 November 2007 (CET)
Like Blueyed, I was looking for a (new) section about common errors, so we can more easily refer to the docs in stead of finding a particular forumpost from some time ago. Afwas 6:23, 19 November 2007 (CET)
WOuldn't it make sense to have a simple FAQ page with different sections, instead of the different pages we now have? In particular, I wanted to add a FAQ about "Blank pages/memory limit". Blueyed 16:59, 18 September 2006 (CDT)
I've read through and edited all the pages on this main table of contents. I tried to update any version changes, grammar, typos, spelling errors, formatting or link problems, etc. I'm sure I missed some issues here and there, but much was tidied up. There is still quite a bit of formatting cleanup that could be done, but the content itself looks pretty good. --Nate 15:29, 24 January 2007 (CST)
- Thank you! :)
The pages Setup a multi-domain test environment and Glossary of important terms do not seem to belong into the Section "Development". Where should they get moved to? Blueyed 19:27, 16 February 2007 (CST)
CreatingPlugin should be linked in the section "Development" - currently it's in "Extend your blog". It makes sense in both sections IMHO. Blueyed 19:27, 16 February 2007 (CST)
There should be a template for the block CSS magic for displaying the columns. It looks really scary with all the inline style. This would make the page easier to edit IMHO. Blueyed 19:27, 16 February 2007 (CST)
