[edit] Evoskin or Skin

Just something to consider to the editors of this page. In the 1.x series, I thought (well pretty sure) that the term evoskin is practicly dead... And that we just use 'skin' now. But yeh, evoskin just seems to be a word that apears every now and then, as everyone is using skin now. It's the skin folder, its the skin list, it's called skinning, the people that do it are skinners, etc etc. Yeh it just seems that evoskin is dying term.

My thoughts on it, is that Evoskin could be used to refer to the 0.9 series skins, and Skin for 1.x and future series. Yeh, i made the Skins page a while ago...

And yeh all out of my experience the term evoskin just confuses people....

Well that's my 2cents... -balupton 12:44, 13 July 2006 (CDT)

-> Looking at the current changes that EdB just made, evoskin is never even used throughout the page, only in the title. So yeh, evoskin seems to be a dead word to me. - 13:57, 13 July 2006 (CDT)

[edit] I wonder how this talk thing works?

--> François once came with the name evoskin, because - at that time - just the name skin was to confusing for most users. They knew the name skin from ie. winamp, and there a skin was something you installed, and that was that. The skins in b2evo are more like templates, but just not completely templates... So : go away is perfect for me --Topanga 03:28, 14 July 2006 (CDT)

--> I agree that it needs to go away, but maybe it can be used for 0.9 series skins, might as well 'die' with that. Tutorials can be used to say 'How to convert your old Evoskins to Skins!', or the term just goes away completely. Should it be brought up in the forums? As the talk pages do not seem to get that much... attention. - balupton 00:17, 14 July 2006 (CDT)

--> Yeah - evoskins is an obsolete term. I'm not sure where it came from, but it used to have it's own domain name and was kinda like a big giant home of skins. I thought when I first saw it that they were for lots of different apps, but that can't be because of how skins work. You gotta know the bits to pull and call and stuff. The term needs to go away, or come back strong. I vote for "go away". - EdB
